Review of LSD Connecticut CigarBy: Gary Manelski Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut cigars are made in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a blend of Estelí, Jalapa, and Pennsylvania Broadleaf filler tobaccos, and a Nicaraguan Habano binder. The cigars were announced in July 2024, and are available in four vitolas priced from $8.79 to $9.99 per cigar. In lieu of cello, they come individually wrapped in plain white paper enclosed within a tube of decorative purple paper, each sealed with cellophane tape. The size being reviewed here is a Robusto (5 x 50) priced at $8.79 per stick. For more info, please check out the press release. The sample Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut Robusto was a mild-to-medium bodied cigar having an enjoyably modest taste of spice at the beginning, with notes of citrus emerging after about 10 and 20 minutes into the first and second samples, respectively. The flavor remained pretty much consistent thereafter, but was more enjoyable before the citrus flavors arose. The Los Status Deluxe Connecticut cigar was very well made and had a great draw, even burn, and held a medium-to-long ash. No relights nor touch-ups were needed during the 35 to 40 minutes that it took me to smoke the sample Robustos down to 1½ inches remaining. LSD Connecticut is not a very complex cigar, and would be most appropriate for newer cigar smokers and/or beginners. Even the packaging would appeal mostly to beginners, who are more likely to choose a cigar based on its flashy curb appeal (instead of first reading the reviews on CigarCzars.com). I rate the Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut Robusto cigar with a respectable 3.75 points on a 5-point scale. The smoke from this cigar may not “set your soul ablaze”, but then again, I did not inhale (nor should you). Related Cigar Reviews: Disclosure: Review samples were provided by the manufacturer. |
