Carnival Celebration was the largest and newest cruise ship in Carnival's fleet during January-February 2025, when I cruised for the fifth time on various ships since the end of the pandemic. COVID was no longer an issue, and the cruise industry is back in full force.
There are three smoking areas on the Celebration for cigarette smokers, but cigars are only permitted in one of those areas, which is located outside near the aft (back) of the starboard (right) side on Deck 17. This is a large and mostly covered area that helps to protect the occupants from sun, rain and wind.
I enjoyed four premium cigars during my seven-day cruise. However, after the first few days, the smoking area on Deck 17 started to attract more cigarette smokers. Seats were still available, but the area became somewhat noisy at times and less relaxing.
I always bring my own cigars to smoke on a cruise ship, but like most ships that allow cigar smoking, cigars are sold in the Celebration's gift shop. You can also purchase cigars at most ports of call.
Not all cruise ships allow cigar smoking, so always check with your travel agent before booking a cruise if smoking cigars on a particular ship is important to you.
