Review of Sancho Panza Extra Chido Cigar

Sancho Panza Extra Chido (extra cool) cigars are the brand's first line to be made in the Dominican Republic, and were released in April 2024. Back in 2022, the Revamped Sancho Panza Cigars that were modernized for General Cigar by Matt Booth are made in Honduras.

The new Extra Chido cigars are produced in three sizes: Robusto (5 x50), Toro (6 x 52) and Gigante (6 x 60). The cigars are made with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobaccos. The sample Sancho Panza Extra Chido Robusto cigar has a taste that was somewhat comparable to the most enjoyable portion of the Revamped Extra Fuerte cigar, previously reviewed. However, the Extra Chido's flavor is more uniform throughout without having a blast of pepper at the start, and the cigar does not become stronger as it is smoked beyond the half-way point. This Sancho Panza Extra Chido cigar was medium bodied and had a very enjoyable/smooth tobacco flavor/texture with just a modest dose of spice. The flavor was pretty much consistent and well-balanced from start to finish.

It took me almost an hour to smoke the Sancho Panza Extra Chido Robusto down to a couple of inches remaining. During that time, the cigar held a long ash, had a very good draw and mostly even burn with just a couple of minor touch-ups needed along the way.

I enjoyed Matt Booth's new for 2024 Sancho Panza Extra Chido cigars just a bit more than the blends created in 2022. These are superior smokes worthy of an overall and extra chido (extra good) rating of 4.25 points on a 5-point scale. They would be a cool choice for all levels of cigar smokers, from beginners to connoisseurs, and are hereby recommended.
