Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro cigars are Nicaraguan puros created by Matt Booth and AJ Fernandez. The cigars are made in Nicaragua and entirely with Nicaraguan tobaccos. These cigars were released during June 2026 in three sizes including a Robusto (5 x 50) priced at $10.29 per stick, which is the subject of this review. The sample Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Robusto began with a peppery and earthy flavor. After 20 minutes, the flavors were still predominately pepper and and earth, with the peppery taste moderating just a bit. About five minutes later, a hint of cream joined the mix, and the cigar was medium-to-full bodied througout. The peppery taste gradually continued to moderate during the second half of the cigar, and the flavors of earth and fading pepper with a hint of cream continued during the remainder of the smoking session.

The Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro cigar was very well made and maintained an even burn and held a long ash. I ashed the cigar two times at the 20 and 40-minute marks. No relights nor touch-ups were needed, and the cigar had a great draw from start to finish. The cigar lasted for 45 minutes all the way down to 1½ inches remaining.

To sum it up, the cigar's construction was impeccable and the flavors were very good, earning the Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Robusto a very good rating of 4 points on a 5-point scale. It would be interesting to compare this Robusto size with a longer vitola, just to see if some subtle flavors become more noticeable if the pepper continues to fade when the cigar burns beyond 3½ inches. Regardless, this would be a great cigar to smoke at a fire pit when watching a rocket launch while visiting Titusville.
