Review of Cohiba Serie M
Reserva Azual 2025 Cigar

By: Gary Manelski

Cohiba Serie M Reserva Azul 2025 is the fifth in a series of annual limited-edition Serie M cigars released since 2021. These cigars are made at the El Titan de Bronze Cigar Factory in Miami by some of the best cigar rollers in the business. Cohiba Serie M Azul cigars have a closed foot and triple cap with signature fan, and are made with a Dominican Corojo wrapper, Nicaraguan Esteli binder, and the following filler tobaccos: Nicaraguan Jalapa Viso and Ligero, Nicaraguan Esteli, and Dominican Piloto Cubano. The cigars became available in March 2025 in one Toro size (6 x 52) priced at $29.99 per cigar. For more information about these cigars, please see the press release.

Beginning – First 30 Minutes

The sample Cohiba Serie M Reserva Azul 2025 cigar began with a very enjoyable smooth, naturally sweet and extremely rich and mellow tobacco flavor (and texture) that can only be achieved with the use of premium well-aged tobaccos. The smoke was medium bodied and very well balanced, suitable even for beginners. The first 30 minutes of the cigar were simply delightful, and worthy of a rating of 4.75 points on a 5-point scale.

Middle – Second 20 Minutes

After ashing the cigar for the first time at the 30-minute mark, the smoke gradually moved up into the medium-to-full bodied range and notes of wood and citrus became noticeable. The smoke was still mellow and smooth, but less sweet at this point. The flavor slipped down a bit to 4.5 points after the first ashing (at 30 minutes) until the second ashing at the 50-minute mark. It was at this point that the volume of smoke had declined enough to require a booster light to rectify the situation and prevent the cigar from eventually going out.

End – Last 30 Minutes

Beyond the 50-minute mark, the flavor dropped again down to a rating of 4.25 points, then gradually down to a still-good 4 points by the very end. During the final 30 minutes, the cigar was less mellow but still smooth. The sweetness and citrus gradually disappeared, but the woodsy flavor remained and was joined by some leather and spice in the background. The cigar went out by itself after a total smoke time of 80 minutes with 2ΒΌ inches remaining.

Conclusion

The sample Cohiba Serie M Reserva Azul 2025 was a very well-made cigar. Except for a booster light to increase the smoke volume at the 50-minute point, no relights nor touch-ups were needed. The cigar burned evenly throughout, held a long ash and had a good draw. Overall, I rate the Cohiba Serie M Reserva Azul 2025 with an excellent 4.5 points on a 5-point scale. The cigar's great performance during the first 30 minutes was enough to make up for a drop in flavor near the end. All considered, the Reserva Azul 2025 is the highest rated version of Cohiba Serie M cigars that were reviewed on this website (as of this writing).
