Top Cigar Events in the United States

By Gary Manelski

There are a number of annual cigar events that attract thousands of cigar smokers from across the United States. The biggest cigar event of the year is the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Annual Convention and Trade Show. In the past, this event has not been open to the general public. Contact the PCA at for more information.

Here are a few of the major cigar events held every year in the U.S. Note that some of these events have been cancelled, delayed, or held virtually online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The Great Smoke. Smoke Inn of South Florida hosts an annual The Great Smoke cigar event during the month of February.

  • Cigar Fest. Cigars International hosts an annual Cigar Fest in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania during the month of May. [DELAYED AND THEN CANCELLED IN 2021]

  • Brew City Cigar Festival. Metro Cigars and Au Contraire Events joined together to present an annual Brew City Cigar Festival in Milwaukee, WI during the month of August.

  • Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival. The Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival is held at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado during the month of August.

  • The Big Smoke. Cigar Aficionado Magazine hosts a couple of annual Big Smoke events, the "biggest" of which is the Big Smoke Weekend in Las Vegas, which is typically held during the month of November. In addition, there is also a Big Smoke Florida, which was delayed in 2021 to the month of October.

  • Ybor City Cigar Heritage Festival. This annual cigar festival is held during December, in Ybor City (Tampa, Florida). General admission is free, but VIP tickets are available in advance. Click Here for Details.

In addition to annual cigar events, some major cigar festivals that are not held every year are also worth noting. One such event is Drew Estate's DE25 Cigar Celebration, which was to be held at the Southfork Ranch near Dallas during September 2021. However, this event is being postponed until 2022 due to health and safety concerns.

Other than the major national cigar festivals, cigar makers are always traveling to local tobacco shops across the U.S. to host smaller cigar events. If you do not want to travel out of town to attend a major cigar festival, chances are that a smaller cigar event is coming to a tobacconist near you.
